Case File 01

From −1.50D to 0.00D in five months. Xiang's story.

A real follow-up record from the 6S 3.0 era, shared with the family's permission. "Xiang" is a pseudonym. This is one child's record, not a promise — individual results vary.

At age 10, Xiang's right eye measured −1.50D with an axial length of 23.48mm. His family started full combination control from day one — defocus lenses, red light under professional monitoring, a reading-and-writing platform, a lighting overhaul, and lutein. Five months later the same eye measured 0.00D, and the axial length had shortened by 0.41mm. Nine months in, it is still holding — and his left eye's hyperopia reserve has actually grown.

The curve

Every point below is a real clinic visit. The right eye (the myopic one) is the story; the left eye — which started with healthy reserve — stayed stable and even gained reserve.

The protocol — combination from day one

Xiang's pre-start testing showed accommodative facility of 10 cycles/minute, meeting the standard to begin optical control directly. What made the difference was not any single tool but the 2+N synergy: two core measures plus the supporting layers, all starting together.

S2 · Red light* S3 · Defocus lenses S1 · Lighting overhaul S4 · Reading & writing platform S6 · Lutein

*Low-level red-light therapy was used under professional guidance and monitoring, as described in the book. Red-light devices for myopia are not FDA-cleared in the United States — always discuss any intervention with your child's eye care professional.

What this case teaches

1

Low myopia is the window

The earlier a child starts — ideally at the first sign of reserve running low — the better the odds. Xiang started at −1.50D; starting at −0.50D or at "pre-myopia" is easier still. Waiting until −4.00D is a different, harder conversation.

2

Combination beats any single tool

Glasses alone correct vision but do not slow the eye's growth. The 6S approach layers optical control, environment, and daily habits so each one multiplies the others.

3

Be honest about what "success" means

Not every child reaches 0.00D — Xiang's starting point and age were favorable. For most children, success is bending the growth curve: keeping annual axial growth well under 0.2mm. Judge your child's plan by the trend, not by someone else's finish line.

Your child's curve starts with the first measurement.

Record axial length at every visit and watch the trend emerge — free. Ninety days from now, the data will tell you whether your plan is working.
